Project Instructions

  • 1
Cut two 10 inch x 12 inch pieces of burlap for head. Cut two 2 inch x 12 inch pieces of burlap for ears. Set ear pieces aside.
  • 2
Using pouncer and ink, shade edges of sheets about 3 to 4 inch in from edges. (Tip: apply ink lightly, then add more if desired.)
  • 3
Place inked sides together. Glue three sides together to form pouch. Turn pouch inside out so inked sides are on the outside.
  • 4
Unfold floral netting until you have four whole and one part sections. Cut off remainder netting. (Tip: you should have a box shape with a little left over.) Slightly flatten out netting. Fold in half so that both smooth edges are on the same side.
  • 5
Carefully fold back to box shape. Bend raw edge pieces to sides to secure back into a box shape. Make sure all ends are pointing in and down so it does not scratch you or stick out of the burlap. Then mold netting into a cylinder shape.
  • 6
Install batteries in lights. Use cloth-covered wire to secure battery pack on bottom of wire cylinder. Make sure on/off switch is accessible. Thread lights back and forth through cylinder from bottom to top.
  • 7
Slip cylinder into burlap pouch. (Tip: the side with the burlap glued to the cylinder will be the front.) Mark the center. Remove cylinder.
  • 8
Dip pouncer into Baby Pink paint and dab to remove excess paint. Pounce on cheeks.
  • 9
Over center mark, paint on nose with Soft Black. Paint on mouth and pounce on eyes with Soft Black.
  • 10
    Insert cylinder into pouch.
  • 11
Pounce ink around edges of cut ear pieces you had set aside. Fold in half. Glue ends together.
  • 12
Pounce Baby Pink on center of each ear.
  • 13
Glue one ear to one side of opening. Repeat for other side. Glue opening shut. (Note: it’s OK to have some fraying.)
  • 14
Cut two 12 inch pieces of ribbon. Tie one piece around the bottom of each ear.
  • 15
Make a small slit in bottom of rabbit to access the on/off switch.
