Nicole Crafts Macaron Party
Oh la la! Here's a DIY to throw a pretty sweet macaron party!
- Time:less than 2 hours
Step A: Cut out 7 inch x 4 inch pieces of decorative cardstock. We used Mambi Sheets in Gold Rush, it includes a variety of designs and they all look great together! In addition, we used plain White textured cardstock for one of our picks to be embossed. The number of pieces will be up to you in how long you want your banner to be.
Step B: Fold cardstock piece in half lengthwise with right sides together, and place the scalloped square stencil on top. Let the inner edge of the straight side align with the fold. Follow instructions for Bigkick Machine to cut out your pennants. This will create a double-sided pennant and it will add extra weight so that our banner will hang nicely. Open the pennant and fold again the opposite way for a clean fold line. Then, cut each pennant in half to make into small and even cuter pennants!
Step C: We embossed our White textured cardstock with an argyle design. Place one side into embossing folder and follow instructions for Bigkick Machine. Apply tacky glue to in-between pennants to close and let dry. Punch two holes near the fold at both sides. Cut a piece of natural jute to the length desired for your banner. Slide pennants through natural jute. Alternating colors/design of pennants makes it look more fun!
Step D: Now we will make little flowers to add a special touch to our pennants! Cut 3 inch x 2 inch pieces of nontextured, solid cardstock. This again will be cut double sided, so fold in half lengthwise and place scalloped half circle stencil on top. Let the inner edge of the straight side align with the fold. Follow instructions for the Bigkick Machine. You will then have scalloped circles. Cut a spiral into the circle in a wavy line. Then, tightly roll from the outside until you reach the center, use a little bit of hot glue at the bottom to secure. Apply little flowers to the center of each pennant with hot glue.
Step A: We used a cute little saying from the Mambi Gold Rush sheets that makes a perfect sign for our macaron party! Paint the sides of the wooden stick circle sign and toy wheel in Snow (Titanium) White.
Step B: Trace the circle onto desired piece of cardstock with saying. Cut and apply with tacky glue. Accent sign with little flowers. Insert stick sign into Lavender zigzag straw. Cut length of straw at the bottom to fit stick into toy wheel. Apply glue to secure.
Step A: Paint candlestick in Purple Cow.
Step B: Trace wood disc onto White textured cardstock and cut. Apply to wood disc with tacky glue.
Step C: Use the scalloped square stencil for the White textured cardstock and follow instructions for Bigkick Machine. Draw a line 3/4 inch wide and parallel to scalloped edge. You will need three pieces for one stand.
Step D: Apply tacky glue to the side of wood disc and attach scalloped edges. Use hot glue to attach candlestick to the bottom of wood disc. Place your macarons on the stand and enjoy!
