A beautiful "love bird" theme can be created for a wedding shower or rehearsal dinner with this "sterling" birdhouse project. Birdhouses can be decorated in so many ways...whether with paint, decoupage with scrapbook or decorative stamped paper, craft basics like buttons, beads and ribbon, you can make it your own!

Project Instructions

1Spray birdhouse and bird Sterling Silver. You may need two coats. Allow to dry.

2Paint dowel caps, perch, bottom, bottom ledge and top edge Ebony Black. Allow to dry.

3Brush varnish over black paint.

4Cut two 3 ½ inch X 12 inch pieces of Black Vines paper. If possible match up pattern. Tape ends together to make one large piece. Cut down to measure 3 ½ inch X 16 inch.

5Position paper in front of birdhouse and press against perch. Remove and cut out area that was creased for perch. Reposition paper in front of birdhouse and thread perch through hole.

6Wrap cardstock around birdhouse and hold in place. Rub finger around opening of birdhouse to crease paper. Remove and cut out hole. Wrap paper around birdhouse and secure with tape.

7Using French Scroll Punch, punch out border from silver crackle paper. Piece together one 12" and one 5" piece of border. Wrap around top of birdhouse. Tape to secure. Repeat for bottom of birdhouse.

8Glue dowel caps to bottom of birdhouse for legs. Allow glue to dry.

9Remove clip from bird and glue to perch.
