Nicole Crafts Personal Piñata
It isn't a party without a piñata!
- Time:1 hour
1Download and print the project template before starting. Use the template to trace and cut out 2 cone shapes from scrapbook paper or cardstock.
2Roll paper into cone and tape to secure. Repeat to create the other half of your piñata.
3Cut a 12 piece of ribbon, and tie a knot to create a loop at the middle. Cut a hole at the tip of one cone slightly smaller than the knot. Slide the loop through from the inside and pull out from the hole. Apply hot glue inside the cone to secure the end of the loop. For a bottom tassel: cut two 24 pieces of ribbon, folding them in half and knotting them together. Cut the other cone tip and string through, applying hot glue inside the cone to secure. Let dry.
4Fill one cone half with your wrapped candy. Craft Tip: Set this cone in a glass to hold upright while you glue it to the top cone. Apply hot glue to the outer edge of the candy filled cone. Fit your top cone over the bottom cone and let dry.
5Choose 3 colors of tissue paper. To create fringe: cut 2 ½ x 12 long strips in your tissue. Use shredder scissors to cut 1 slits on each side of the strips. Where the two cone halves meet, glue the paper fringe, one color at a time, layering as you go. Use your fingers to ruffle the fringe.
6Finish by personalizing your piñatas with ribbon, glitter, and your favorite scrapbook embellishments! We used a made-to-match medallion by gluing together two accordion-folded strips of paper.
