  • Time:1 to 2 hours

Project Instructions

  • 1
Make pom poms using all the colors of yarn except the Gold thread. Follow the instructions on the pom pom maker package to make the pom poms. Instead of wrapping one color, wrap one row of one color, then wrap another row of another color. Do three colors on each side, then continue following the package instructions.
  • 2
You can make all big pom poms or alternate big and small pom poms. That’s up to you. Make a total of seven.
  • 3
Cut a three yard piece of Gold thread. Thread one end with the wide-eye needle. Now thread the pom poms onto the Gold metallioc thread with the needle. Space them about 5 inches apart.
  • 4
Now let'’s make tassels. Wrap one color yarn around the 8 inch piece of cardboard 10 times. Pull the yarn off and tie together in the center with a long piece. Cut the loops at each end. Now pull each end to the center and tie around all the yarn with another piece of yarn. Trim the ends even. Repeat with the other colors except the Gold thread.
  • 5
Tie your tassels onto the garland between each pom pom in rainbow color order.
  • 6
Hang your rainbow garland and enjoy!
