Nicole Crafts Six Bookmarks Your Librarian Would Love
Yarn, washi tape, photos, paint -- create a bookmark for your favorite librarian, teacher or reader!

1Plastic Canvas Bookmark:
Step A: Cut a piece of plastic canvas measuring 10 holes by 36 holes.
Step B: Thread yarn on plastic canvas on a diagonal. You can use our pattern or create your own.
Step C; When you are finished the inside pattern, wrap yarn around the outside, leaving a 5" tail on each end at the bottom.
Step D: Thread a 10" piece of two different colors of yarn through the bottom of bookmark.
Step E: Tie all of the yarn pieces in an overhand knot and trim the ends.
2Bubble Wrap Painted Bookmark:
Step A: Cut a 2" x 6" piece of Bristol paper.
Step B: Cut three small pieces of bubble wrap, about 3" x 2" each.
Step C: Squirt paint onto plate and smooth out with brush.
Step D: Lay a piece of bubble wrap onto paint and press slightly so it gets covered. Lift bubble wrap and press onto bookmark. Let one paint color dry before doing the next color.
Step E: Cover the bookmark with bubble wrap paint marks. You can copy our pattern and colors or use whatever colors and pattern you like.
Step F: Punch a hole at the top.
Step G: Make a pom pom with the smallest pom pom maker in package, leaving 3" tails. Follow the instructions on the package.
Step H: Tie a knot at the bottom of the tails. Thread through the hole, thread the pom pom through the loop and pull tight.
3Cardstock READ Bookmark:
Step A: Cut two 2-1/4" x 6-1/2" pieces of cardstock. Glue these two pieces together with stars side facing out. Cut around the edges with the decorative scissors.
Step B: Attach the letter stickers to spell READ.
Step C: Punch a hole at the top.
Step D: Wrap the yarn around an 8" piece of cardboard 10 times. Pull off and tie a piece of yarn around the center, leaving tails. Cut the loops at both ends. Fold in half and tie a piece of yarn around all of the yarn pieces. Trim the ends. Tie through hole in bookmark.
4Washi Tape Bookmark:
Step A: Cut a piece of White paper so it is 3" x 3".
Step B: Take a strip of tape and place it along one 3" edge, leaving some overhang.
Step C: Turn the paper over and push down the overhang on each side.
Step D: Place another strip of tape on the back so it covers the turned down edges.
Step E: Trim the excess paper from the tape.
Step F: Fold in half. Cut two half inch pieces of magnet and attach to each inside end.
Step G: Glue a flower to the top of bookmark and glue a Green rhinestone to the center of the flower.
5Yarn Monster Bookmark:
Step A: Wrap the yarn around three fingers 100 times.
Step B: Place two chenille stems through the middle opening. Bend both ends together and twist to secure.
Step C: Remove from your fingers and cut the loops apart.
Step D: Take two of the chenille stems and bring them up to the top and twist together for antennae. Curl the ends.
Step E: Trim the yarn so it's not so long.
Step F: Glue on his eyes with the tacky glue.
Step G: Paint the craft sticks and let them dry.
Step H: Place the two chenille stems at the bottom of the monster between the two craft sticks and hot glue together. Remember to use the low setting.
6Silly Photo Bookmark:
Step A: Paint the craft stick and let it dry.
Step B: Decorate with the markers any way you wish with the markers.
Step C: Cut out your silly photo close around your face and glue to the top of the craft stick.
