Nicole's Bead Shop Blue Cable Necklace
Make a statement with this bold, blue necklace!
- Time:2-1/2 hours
1Use lightweight monofilament to string a 12-inch long strand of mixed Turquoise glass beads. Turn the strand into an endless loop by using a square knot (right over left, then left over right). Make twelve of these endless loops.
2Fold one endless loop in half so it looks like two small bracelets. Fold a second endless loop in half and lay it on top of the first one in an X pattern. Take the ends from the two sides of the bottom loop and lift them up so that you can take a third folded loop and thread it through those ends. Continue in this manner to build a cable from these folded endless loops of beads.
3Cut a piece of craft wire approximately ten inches long. Slide one 6-1/2 mm glass round bead, one Silver oval metal bead and twelve more 6-1/2 mm glass round beads onto this wire. Then, push the wire through the last link of endless loops you made, and thread it back into the large oval metal bead, back through the 6-1/2 mm glass bead, and make a loop using your round nose pliers and wrap the end of the wire neatly around this loop. Complete this step on the opposite side of the necklace.
4Each side of the necklace can now be completed by stringing ten 10 mm Blue agate facetted beads and two 6-1/2 mm glass beads between the wire wrapped loops and a lobster claw clasp using jewelry wire and crimp beads.
