Perler Beads Fun Bat
Such a cute, fun bat!
- Time:1 hour
1Project time does not include the time needed for the project to cool.
Download and print project template for assistance in placing the beads for this project as well as assembling it.
You will need the following quantities of beads for doing this project as shown:
2Slide the template underneath the pegboard. Place the beads following the template.
3Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
4Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat step two. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. (Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Depending on the size of the project, additional heating time may be required. Do not over-iron the beads as it will make the centers of the beads close and can make any assembly you do with your project more challenging.)
5To Assemble the Bat:
Insert the small wings into the slots under the eyes on the back of the bat's head.
Slide the big wings into the small wings aligning the slots.
Cut 2 pieces of thread about 3 inch long. Tie the pieces to the side of the head as shown.
Thread 4 Purple and 3 White beads into each piece of thread, and finish by tying onto the hands.
Cut a longer piece of thread for the hanger and tie it to the top of the bat's head.
