Perler Beads Menorah & Star of David
A wonderful way to celebrate Hanukkah!
- Time:2 hours
1Project time does not include the time needed for the project to cool.
Download and print project template for assistance in placing the beads for this project as well as assembling it.
You will need the following quantities of beads for doing this project as shown:
White = 166
Toothpaste = 144
Dark Blue = 84
Gold Metallic = 27
2Slide the template underneath the pegboard. Place your beads on the pegboard as shown.
3Before fusing, sprinkle glitter onto the flames of the candles, then cover with ironing paper.
4Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface.
5Set an iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. Do not press down with the iron. (Note: beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the ironing paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Depending on the size of the project, more ironing time may be required. Do not over-iron the beads as it will make the centers of the beads close and can make the assembly of the project more challenging.) As the beads begin to fuse, you will see circles of beads start to show through the ironing paper. When ironed properly, the beads will still have an open center. Let the design cool.
6Remove the ironing paper and the template from the pegboard. Flip these items over to exposed the non-fused side. Repeat step 5.
7Assemble the project as shown, inserting the menorah into its stand. Make a hanger from the ribbon and tie it to the Star of David.
