Pickle Ornament

The legend of the Christmas pickle dictates that the first child to find the pickle in the tree gets an extra Christmas present. If you want to start that tradition, or if you just love pickles, here'’s how to create a felt pickle ornament in minutes.

Project Instructions

  • 1
Download and print the project template. Use it to cut out the pickle shapes from felt.
  • 2
Cut a 1 yard piece of yarn, and thread the needle. Hold the pickle shapes together and carefully stitch around the edge, leaving a space open at the top.
  • 3
Stuff the pickle with the Poly-fil and set aside. Fold one Emerald chenille stem in half and twist together. Glue the end of the twisted stem into the top of the pickle and sew the remaining space closed. Curl the chenille stem.
  • 4
Glue on the wiggle eyes, and create a mouth and spots with dimensional paint. Let the paint dry thoroughly.
