Plaid Apple Barrel Frog or Panda Valentine Holder

Project Instructions

    Frog Prince:
    Step A: Spray box with primer and let dry. Paint the box with Parakeet and let dry. When completely dry, apply Mod Podge and set aside. Paint the inside of the box Black and the flap opening with Red Apple.
    Step B: Hot glue circle pieces to the end of popsicle sticks for toes, paint the toes with Parakeet, and let dry.
    Step C: Cut paper plates in a heart shape and cut the heart in half. Paint both sides of both halves with Parakeet allowing each side to dry in between painting. Apply Mod Podge and set aside.
    Step D: Cut the crown shape out of a paper plate as well. Paint with Sunny Day. When dry, apply Mod Podge Sparkle. Paint a heart shape Pink Eraser and two small circles with Red Apple to decorate crown. When the Sparkle Mod Podge is dry attach the heart to the center of the crown and the smaller circles to the outer points.
    Step E: Paint a small heart shape with Pink Eraser for the frog’s tongue. Paint two large circles White for eyes. Hot glue the wiggle eyes to the White painted circles when dry.
    Step F: When the box is completely dry, hot glue the heart halves (legs) to the front of the box and, hot glue the toes to the bottom of the box. Attach the crown to the box with hot glue, followed by the eyes. Hot glue the Pink Eraser-painted heart to the flap.

    Panda Bear:
    Step A: Cut the cereal box in half, and trace a semi-circle on the box for the Panda’'s tummy.
    Step B: Paint the box Black and the tummy White. When the box is dry, apply Mod Podge with Gloss Finish to the cereal box and let dry.
    Step C: Paint the heart, oval and circle wood pieces for the arms, ears, and eyes, nose and feet Black. Paint the circles for the feet and hands White. Use Pink Eraser to paint the Panda’s tongue.
    Step D: Hot glue two paper plates together and set aside.
    Step E: When the wood pieces are dry, hot glue the wiggly eyes to the large oval shapes, hot glue circles to remaining oval shapes (for arms). Add small Black hearts to White circles to make the pads of the Panda’'s feet. Use a paint brush end dipped in Black paint to make toes.
    Step F: Add painted wood pieces to paper plates with hot glue for the face. Use a marker pen to draw on the mouth. Once the cereal box is dry, hot glue the face to the inside of the box. Attach the arms and feet as well with hot glue.
