Turn a cracker box into a journal!
- Time:2 hours
1Project time does not include drying time for the Mod Podge.
2Open the wheat cracker box so it is completely flat. Fold it in half matching the edges together. Press down the fold-seam with a bone folder. Using a ruler as a guide, trim the box so it is 7-1/2 inch tall and 11-1/2 inch wide.
3Trim the cardstock to 7-1/2 inch x 11-1/2 inch. Coat the back of the cardstock with Mod Podge. Position the cardstock on the wheat cracker box. Top coat with a layer of Mod Podge. Use your fingers to press out any air bubbles. Smooth your brushstrokes. Allow to dry.
4Trim the computer or copy paper to 7-1/2 inch tall and 11 inch wide. Stack the pieces of computer or copy paper and fold in half. Place the papers into the wheat cracker box so it looks like a journal. Working through all the layers of the computer or copy paper, staple them to the seam of the cover.
5Cut about a yard of ribbon. Fold the ribbon in half. Place the ribbon in the center of the wheat cracker box/journal. Match the fold line with the seam of the wheat cracker box/journal. Glue the ribbon to the front in back of the wheat cracker box/journal.
6Cover the seam edge of the wheat cracker box/journal with another piece of ribbon. Glue half the ribbon to the front and half to the back of the wheat cracker box/journal.
7Remove shanks from the flower buttons with the wire cutters. Glue the flower buttons down the ribbon on the front.
