Project Instructions

  • 1
Project time does not include drying time for the Mod Podge.
  • 2
Glue the baseball cardstock to the top and the sides of tin using Mod Podge. Cut out baseball related words (this is “Baseball” and “Game” in the photo) from the newspaper. Cut out pieces from the Primary Red cardstock that are slightly larger than these words. First glue the Primary Red pieces to the top of tin and then add matching newspaper clippings on top. Allow to dry and then add a top coat of Mod Podge.
  • 3
Cut and glue Primary Green cardstock inside the lid and the bottom of inside. Make a diamond and baseball field in the center of the bottom of tin using black marker.
  • 4
Use the marker to draw a line on the lid dwn the center and across the top. Write the words "HOME" and "VISITORS" above the top line.
  • 5
On the diamond, cut out 3 very small Milk White squares and use Mod Podge to glue them to the corners where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base would be. Cut out another piece in the shape of home plate and glue it in place.
  • 6
Use the marker to write 1, 2 and 3 on the respective base and H for home.
  • 7
For game pieces, punch out 5 holes from each of the Orange and Primary Yellow cardstocks. For the score pieces punch out 8 holes from Primary Red paper. Use Mod Podge to glue these pieces to the small wooden discs/circles. Once it is dry add a top coat. Cut out small pieces of magnet and glue to the back of discs/circles.
  • 8
Cut out squares of Primary Red cardstock to cover each side of game die. Glue a piece to each of the die with Mod Podge and allow to dry. Once it is dry, write the letter "s" for single on one side of the die, "d" for double on another side of the die, "t" for triple on another side of the die, "hr" for home run and "o" for out on another side of the die. You get to choose which of letter(s) you double up on to ensure all sides of the die are covered.
  • 9
To play the game, roll the die and follow the letters' instructions. If you have a single, then you move to first base and so on. When you get 3 "o's", you're out and then it's the next player's turn.
