1Use a gauge of 16 sc x 20 rows (4 inch) and 1 motif (4-3/4 inch) in crochet a blanket that measures 38 inch x 38 inch. Save time, check your gauge. If the hook or needle listed under supplies does not work, use the size that allows you to obtain the required gauge. Download the template for abbreviations and stitches not explained elsewhere and the pattern.
Special stitches and abbrevations:
CL2 (dc2tog) = [Yo and insert hook into st, yo and draw up a lp through st, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook] twice, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook.
CL3 (dc3tog) = [Yo and insert hook into st, yo and draw up a lp through st, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook] 3 times, yo and draw through all 4 lps on hook.
Ch 5, join with sl st to form ring.
