Use a gauge of 15 Esc x 10 rows to crochet a scarf that measures 4" wide x 62" long and a hat that has a circumference of 20" and a height of 7". Be sure to check your gauge. If it takes you fewer stitches to match the gauge, try using a smaller size hook; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size hook.

With A , ch 202.
Row 1: Esc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across.
Row 2: Ch 2, esc in blo of 2nd st from hook and each st across.
Row 3: Join B. Ch 2, esc in blo of 2nd st from hook and each st across.
Row 4: Ch 2, esc in blo of 2nd st from hook and in each st across.
With A, rep Rows 3 and 4. Continue repeating Rows 3 and 4, changing color every other row, until piece measures 4". Fasten off.
Cut yarn to form lengths 12" long. Attach 3 strands at a time; opposite color fringe to color on scarf. Trim ends of fringe. Weave in ends.
With A, Ch 36.
Row 1: Esc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Row 2: Ch 2 and turn, esc in blo of 2nd st from hook and in each st across.
Row 3: Attach B. Ch 2 and turn. Esc in blo of 2nd st from hook in each st across.
Row 4: Ch 2 and turn. Esc in 2nd st from hook in blo across.
With A, rep Rows 3 and 4. Continue repeating Rows 3 and 4, changing color every 2 rows, until piece measures 19". Fasten off.
Sew short ends together to form a cylinder. Gather one end of hat with running stitches and sew closed.
Make pom pom according to instructions with pom pom maker. For a two-tone pom pom as shown, wrap one half of pom pom maker with color A and the other half with color B. Attach Pom Pom to top of hat.
Weave in ends.
A = Turquoise
B = Black

Esc = Insert hook through st, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through one loop, yarn over, pull though two loops
