Wilton Star-Topped Brownies

Create stellar treats for your 4th of July celebration. Rich chocolate brownies are topped with star cookies colored in Red, White and Blue sugars.

Project Instructions

    Project time does not include neither the time to bake nor cool neither the brownies nor the cookies.

    Prepare brownie batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool. Prepare chocolate buttercream icing recipe following recipe directions. Use spatula to ice brownies smooth. Use knife to cut brownies into 2 inch x 2 inch squares.

    Prepare cookie dough and roll out following recipe directions. Cut out shapes using medium star cut-out. Bake and cool.

    Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint some Royal Blue and some Red (combine Christmas Red and Red-Red to get color shown); reserve some White. Use spatula and icing to ice tops of cookies smooth. Immediately sprinkle with same colored sugar.

    Position cookie stars on brownies. Place treats on stand, if desired.
