DecoArt Patriotic Rocket Yard Ornaments

The red, white and blue glare from these wooden rockets make great lawn ornaments! They'll point your Memorial Day, 4th of July or summer cookout guests in the right direction. (To the food, of course!)

Project Instructions

  • 1
Note: Let paint dry between applications.
  • 2
Thoroughly sand arrows before painting. On one rocket, use the flat brush to paint both the tail and tip Blue. On the same rocket, tape off stripes on the body of the arrow and paint in Red and White. On other rocket, and with the same brush, paint head in Blue and body in Red. Tape off stripes on tail and paint in Red and White.
  • 3
On the rocket with the Red body, draw a "USA" and stars pattern. Use the round brush to paint these objects in White. On other rocket, use pouncer to add White dots to head and tail.
  • 4
Use liner brush to outline all elements of both rockets in Black.
  • 5
Place a dowel about six inches from the bottom of the arrow, then determine how much you want your rocket sticking out from the ground. Cut the dowel to reflect this length. Paint one dowel in Blue and the other Red. Glue dowel to the to back of each rocket.
