Wilton Mom's Sweet Garden Cake

Enticingly bright flowers add a note of whimsical delight to this charming cake. Cookie toppers add just the right touch of love.

Project Instructions

    Project time does not include neither the time to bake nor cool the cake or the cookies.

    Prepare and roll out dough. Cut "MOM" using letter cutters from set. On "O" cookie, gently press cut out center circle back into cookie. Bake and cool. Pipe tip 12 zigzag on "M" and tip 12 bead petals on "O" in rose buttercream. Add tip 12 Yellow dot flower center. Attach sticks to back with melted candy.

    Prepare 3 boxes White cake mix following package instructions; divide in thirds. In one portion of batter, gently stir in Violet icing color to desired shade (use clean toothpicks to transfer color from jar to batter). Repeat with Golden Yellow icing color to color second portion. Repeat with Rose icing color to color third portion.

    Place batter dividing ring in the first prepared 9 x 1-1/2 inch pan. Pour Violet-colored batter in outer section and Golden Yellow-colored batter in the middle section and rose in center section. Fill sections halfway. Remove ring from pan by carefully lifting straight up on handles. Rinse and completely dry ring.

    Place ring in second prepared pan and in the first prepared 9 x 1-1/2 inch pan. Pour Golden Yellow-colored batter in outer section and Rose-colored batter in the middle section and Violet-colored batter in center section. Fill sections halfway. Remove ring from pan by carefully lifting straight up on handles. Rinse and completely dry ring.

    Place clean and dry ring in third prepared pan. Pour Rose-colored batter in outer and Violet-colored batter in the middle section and Golden Yellow-colored batter in the center section. Fill sections halfway. Remove ring from pan as before.

    Bake and cool cakes following recipe directions. Place cake on foil-wrapped cake board. Ice smooth in Sky Blue buttercream.

    Pipe tip 12 bead flowers in Violet, Orange and Rose. Add tip 12 Yellow ball centers. Pipe tip 5 outline stems, tip 352 leaves in Leaf Green. Pipe tip 233 pull-out grass bottom border. Insert cookies in cake top.
