Project Instructions

  • 1
It’s a good idea to make one invitation and make sure it slips into the mailing envelope. You may need to trim cards down slightly as decorations add some thickness)
  • 2
Start by creating the invitation. After printing out invite information, cut one piece of patterned scrapbook paper into 1-1/2" wide strips. Each 12"x12" sheet yields 8 invitations.
  • 3
Adhere a strip to the left edge of the printed invitation front. You can overlap the paper onto the back of the invitation or trim off excess paper.
  • 4
Cut lengths of 5/8" satin and 938 sheer to 1" longer than your invitation.
  • 5
Adhere double-sided tape to the back of the 5/8" hot pink satin ribbon.
  • 6
Leave about 1/8" space between edge of paper strip and edge of ribbon. Adhere ribbon to card, overlapping ½" ends to back of card on top and bottom.
  • 7
Adhere 3/8" ivory on top of satin where it overlaps to the back of the card at top and bottom.
  • 8
To create envelopes, spray mount a solid color scrapbook paper to the back of a patterned scrapbook paper that matches the invitations. Allow to dry.
  • 9
Lay invitation on top of the solid colored side and fold mounted sheet over the invite to the center.
  • 10
Fold open corners of the mounted papers creating triangles to expose the solid paper inside. Try to keep openings even where they fold down.
  • 11
Punch two holes; 1st hole at 1" down from exposed interior color and ¼" in from front edge. 2nd hole at 1 inch down from exposed interior color and ½" away from the 1st hole.
  • 12
Cut a 2-foot strip of each ribbon. Layer sheer on top of satin.
  • 13
Adhere center of ribbon length to the back of envelope with small piece of double-sided tape.
  • 14
Feed both ribbon ends down through the first hole on each side of the envelope and back up through the one closest to the center.
  • 15
Slip into supplied envelope and mail.
