Sand Dollars Jar: Download and print project template. Cut out the Sand Dollars and tape inside jar. Pour White into plastic cup, filling about 1/3 full. Add few drops of Bright Yellow, smaller amount of Bright Orange and very small drop of Black, mixing until color resembles a Sand color. Using liner brush, outline island. Cover cup of paint. Mix White with small amount of Black until you have Dark/Medium Gray. Outline sand dollars with liner brush. Mix Blue with few drops of White for light blue and use mix to outline water with liner brush. Mix Green with White for light green mix. Next to light blue mix and light green mix, pour out some White on palette or plate. Using 1/4 size brush, dip into light blue mix and then into White to fill in water area. Alternate between light blue mix and light green mix using same method. (White should be streaked throughout water.) Let dry and when paint is dry, add more paint if desired. Using stencil brush, generously dip into Sand-colored paint and begin filling in sand area around sand dollars with thick layer of paint. (You will need to use a lot of paint, blotting as you go, to leave textured sand effect.) Let dry. Mix White with small amount of Black to make Light Gray. Pour out White next to Light Gray mix on palette or plate. Using generous amounts of Light Gray mix, fill in sand dollars with thick coat of paint using No. 2 soft bristle brush. Occasionally use White to make swirls in Light Gray mix for slight color change. Fill in entire area of sand dollar surrounding star and five small outlined areas with thick coat of White, using No. 2 soft bristle brush. Let dry and add another coat if desired. Using liner brush, touch up sand dollar by outlining again with Dark Gray mix and again, just underneath that, outline with Medium Gray mix. Also outline areas painted White with Medium Gray mix. Remove template from inside jar. Lid is painted Blue Harbor. Add a small beach-related object, such as a sand dollar, if desired. Use sealer to ensure a good finish.
