Paint Poured Ornaments

Go with the flow this year and create one-of-a-kind paint poured ornaments for your tree decorating. The bright and beautiful designs can be made in any color combination you desire; just add your favorite colors into a cup, and pour on the fun!

Project Instructions

  • 1
Place cooling rack inside cake pan. Place Styrofoam onto tray. Insert craft sticks into Styrofoam. Remove metal hanger from ornament and place opening onto craft stick.
  • 2
Mix equal parts acrylic paint and Elmers glue all in plastic cups. Add a few drops of water and mix thoroughly. Continue to add water until the paint flows easily. Repeat for each color you intend to use.
  • 3
Pour desired colors into one cup. Start with one color as the base. Alternate adding small amounts of different colors to the base until you are satisfied (we poured four layers into the cup). Swirl colors in cup with a craft stick but do not mix them together. Pour paint over entire ornament. Tilt the glass back and forth until you are satisfied with the result. You can go back and pour more paint to fill in the gaps. Let dry.
