Plaid Apple Barrel Butterfly Canvas
Kids will love making the Plaid Apple Barrel Butterfly Canvas with their footprints.
- Time:1 hour
1Project time does not include drying time for the paint.
2Mix water to each paint listed individually in paper cups.
3Use a pencil to lightly draw four sections (the sections don't have to be equal) onto each canvas. Brush the water-downed paint to the canvas and spray with water from the spray bottle. One section on one canvas should be Tropical Blue; another, Green Clover; another, Fuschia and the last one should be Apricot. Moving onto the second canvas, repeat this step, making one section Apricot, another section Fuschia, another Tropical Blue and the last, Green Clover. Allow the paint to blend slightly on the canvases to create a tie dyed look.
4Paint the bottom of your childs feet with Black and press on the canvas to create a butterfly. Make sure you leave enough space between their feet on the canvas so you can draw and paint the interior of the butterfly's thorax and abdomen with the flat brush and Black. Don't forget to give your butterfly a face and antennae!
5Paint the bodies Black. Dip handles of paintbrushes into paints you used earlier. Add accents to the butterflies with the liner brush and White.
