Plaid Martha Stewart Radiant Stripe Ceramic Vases
Create accent pieces for your home!
- Time:2 hours
1Project time does not include drying time for the paint.
2Wash and dry ceramic vases with soap and water. Rub each vase with rubbing alcohol and let dry.
3Start each vase at the bottom. Tape off the bottom stripe on each vase, using photo as a guide for an approximate size. Pounce the color desired from one of those listed under supplies (Pacific Iris, Hydrangea Purple, Purple Yam and Lake Fog). Let dry. Apply a second coat if needed. Let paint dry and score the edge of tape with craft knife before removing tape. (Tip: Make sure not to apply tape over painted stripes; no matter how dry the paint feels it will still lift your paint.)
4Work up the vase, applying tape only to the top of each stripe and rotating to a different color from those under supplies (Pacific Iris, Hydrangea Purple, Purple Yam and Lake Fog) but not used previously. (Tip: to create a clean edge where your new stripe and your previous stripe meet, place a piece of paper at the edge of your stripe and pounce to create edge. Hold and move the paper working around the vase.)
5Let each stripe dry and work up the vase till complete.
6Let dry completely for 24 hours.
