Project Instructions

  • 1
Iron out the wrinkles of bandana if needed and cut out an 8-1/2" x 8” piece.
  • 2
With the wrong side facing up, fold over 1” on one 8” side and press. With a 1/2” wide piece of iron-on adhesive, cut the length to match the fold. Peel off adhesive and place 1/2” away from the fold to attach the edge down. Iron and let cool. TIP: Leave an opening along the fold for the strap.
  • 3
Fold the bandana right sides together. Prepare two iron-on adhesive strips to attach the rest of the case. TIP: Iron one piece halfway and connect the other piece where it meets at the corner. Cut the tip of the corner off, to have a sharp corner when turned inside out, and fold the case inside out.
  • 4
Make two small slits on the outside layer of the bandana at the top on both sides. Gather six 14” pieces of embroidery floss, tie a knot, and braid. Use a safety pin to bring through the slits and work around to bring ends together. Tie a knot and cut off excess.
  • 5
Personalize with beads and a tassel! Make a floss tassel by following these instructions.
  • 6
Tie the tassel onto your sunglass case by threading floss through the bead, then the top of the tassel and knot to secure. Tie to the braid and dot with glue to hold the bead and tassel in place.
