Project Instructions

  • 1
For each bracelet, 2 Chenille Stems are used. Cut one of the chenille stems in half.
  • 2
String on beads to create name onto the full size Chenille Stem. Center beads on stem.
  • 3
Place the cut stems above and below the long stem. These will sandwich the beads so the letters won't spin around as much.
  • 4
Twist the shorter, exposed stem ends of each side of the alphabet beads around the exposed longer stem.
  • 5
Measure child's wrist to determine how much Duck Tape is needed for finishing the bracelet. You need to cover over the twisted Chenille Stems to the back of the wrist, leaving room to twist the bracelet closed.
  • 6
Place duct tape sticky side up and lay down wrapped chenille stems just to the right or left of the alphabet beads (see picture). Roll stems in tape. Repeat for other side. Option: cut thin, 6-1/2 inch lengths of tape to create stripes such as the Jacquie bracelet shown.
  • 7
Place bracelet on child's wrist; they can twist the bracelet closed with the exposed ends of the chenille stems. Option: curl or twist ends or cut shorter; bend end of chenille stem around so there is no exposed wire from the stem.
