If creating a Rose pen, cut or rip a length of green (or color of choice!) tape. Roll it lengthwise around the pen, leaving room near the pen to be able to place the pen cap back on. Trim the pen end and squish down tape end. Put aside.
To create the petals, cut a 3 inch length of tape. Place tape adhesive side up and fold over leaving approximately 1/4 to 5/8 inch of adhesive exposed. Tip: Roll out a larger piece of Duck Tape and place on protected surface, such as cutting board. It's easier to cut the tape to the length you need when already anchored on a surface!
To create a curved petal, cut the folded over portion of the Duck Tape so it will look like an arch. Put aside; make 9-12 of the petals. Don't worry if they don't all look exactly alike as that will make the rose look more realistic!
To start rose, begin by rolling the first petal around the base of the pen; it will look like a rose bud.
To create a more realistic looking rose, the key is: scrunch! When turning the petals around the first petal, stagger them and make sure it puckers and/or scrunches, which will create a more dimensional effect.
Cut a 7 inch length of Duck Tape that matches the flower. Trim to a 1/2 inch width. Wrap around the bottom portion of the petals so that they don't come off. Repeat with a 5 inch x 1/2 inch piece of matching green and wrap a little further down. Trim as needed.
Bend back petals to create a more realistic looking rose. Create a bouquet of pens!
