Project Instructions

  • 1
Make 2 pieces of Duck Tape Fabric that are 16 inch long and 12 inch wide. We did this with Purple Zebra but you can make this in whatever Duck Tape color/pattern you like. To make Duck Tape Fabric, lay a strip of Duck Tape, sticky side up, on your cutting mat. Lay the next strip so that it overlaps the other. Continue this until the fabric is the length required for this project. These will be the front and back of your purse. Set these aside.
  • 2
For your side pieces, make 2 more pieces of Duck Tape Fabric with Purple Zebra (or other desired color) that are 12 inch long and 5 inch wide. See step 1 for general instructions on how to make Duck Tape Fabric.
  • 3
Make a final piece of Duck Tape Fabric in Purple Zebra (or other desired color) that is 16 inch long and 5 inch wide. See step 1 for general instructions on how to make Duck Tape Fabric. This will be the bottom of the purse. Set this aside.
  • 4
Lay out the 2 side pieces from step 2 with one of the pieces from step 1. Use 12 inch strips of Duck Tape (from a different color – we chose Blue Leopard but you can always change the color/pattern to one that is more your liking) to attach them together on both sides. This will be the front and sides of your bag. Set this aside.
  • 5
Lay out the second piece from step 1 and the piece from step 3. Use a 16 inch strip of Duck Tape in desired color to attach them together on both sides. This will be the back and bottom of your bag.
  • 6
Lay out the bottom piece from step 5 in between the front and back piece. Use a 16 inch strip of Duck Tape in Blue Leopard (or other desired color/pattern to attach them on both sides.
  • 7
Fold all the sides up to create your bag and tape all the remaining seams inside and out.
  • 8
For your straps, make two double sided strips (one side, one color; other side, other color) of Duck Tape that are 24 inch long. Round off the edges if desired.
  • 9
Connect the straps to the front and back of your bag with strips of Duck Tape that alternate between the colors you chose. Add other accessories, such as a button, to decorate if desired.
  • 10
Optional: add your own design and personal style, such as a paw print, to the outside of your bag! Download an image from the internet, or draw one freehand on a piece of cardstock. Then cut it out and trace it over a piece of Duck Tape Fabric (see step 1 for general instructions on how to make Duck Tape Fabric). Cut out the Duck Tape image and attach it to your bag!
