- Time:1/2 hour
Note: the colors of Duck Tape listed under the instructions and supplies is only a guide. Feel free to use Duck Tape colors or prints that better match your style!
Create a template for your birds on Snowcap cardstock. Cut it out. For this project, we used a bird that is 5-1/2 inch long and 6-1/2 inch wide.
Make a piece of Island Lime Duck Tape fabric that is big enough to trace your bird template onto. To make Duck Tape fabric, lay a strip of Duck Tape, sticky side up, on your cutting board. Lay the next strip so it slightly overlaps the other. Continue until you have a piece that measures 5 inch inch long and 6-1/2 inch wide. Take it and turn it sideways so the strips are going left to right. Lay the next strips, sticky side down, going up and down so it is laying the opposite direction. Trim off any excess.
Trace the bird template from step 2 onto your Duck Tape fabric.
Cut out your bird. Repeat steps 3-4 to make a second identical bird.
Cut a piece of Bubble Wrap that is about 12 inch long and 8 inch wide or big enough to fit your bird template. Fold your piece so there are 2 layers of bubble wrap and trace your bird template onto it.
Cut out both layers of Bubble Wrap so you have 2 birds.
Place your Bubble Wrap birds in between your 2 Duck Tape birds from step 5 and cover both sides in Duck Tape.
Cut out your bird leaving a small amount of space around the bird so it stays stuck together.10Cut a piece of wire with your wire cutters that is 12 inch long.11Bend your wire into a U shape and then bend the ends up and together and secure with a piece of Duck Tape.
Cut a small hole in the bottom of your bird and insert its wire stand. Secure with Duck Tape.
Repeat steps 3 through 12 with Funky Flamingo, Sunburst Yellow and Electric Blue.
