- Time:45 minutes
Create a Ribbon Lanyard Bracelet: Cut four lengths of ribbon (two from each color) that are 6-1/2 yard each. Overlap the centers as shown to create a woven square. Secure the ribbons by hand-tacking them with a needle and thread or add a drop of glue where each ribbon overlaps. Working in a counter-clockwise direction, fold the ribbons over one another, beginning with Rose Pink over Ivory, then White over Rose Pink, then Shocking Pink over White, then fold Ivory over Shocking Pink and under the loop formed by Rose Pink. Tighten up the ribbons after each round of weaving. Reverse the pattern and work in a clockwise direction to fold Ivory over Rose Pink, then Shocking Pink over Ivory, then White over Ivory, then Rose Pink over White and through the loop formed by Ivory. This returns the ribbons to their original positions. Repeat from the beginning, working alternatively in a counter-clockwise and clockwise direction until the braid measures 3-1/2 inch. Returning to the starting point to where the ribbons were first overlapped, weave the other four ribbon ends in the same pattern for 3-1/2 inch. The finished length of the braid should be 7 inch. To secure the ribbons at both ends, sew a small cross stitch through each of the four end squares and cut the ribbon close to the weaving.
For the finished twisted look, twist ends a few times before tying off.
Tie off by weaving finished braided strands into the end of the beginning folds.
Using the lengths of ribbon streamers remaining, tie a bow at the bracelet joint.
Cut 4 strands as long as you like. Shape and seal ends.
