Rit Dye Minted Art

Save some money by purchasing unfinished wood frames and dye them the color of your choice. Use the supplies listed to stain wood while letting the wood’s natural grain shine through the color, creating a beautiful frame for any work of art.

Project Instructions

    Project time does not include drying time for the dye.

    Start with an unfinished wood frame.
  • 3
    Choose your favorite color of Rit Dye (we used Aquamarine, but feel free to change the color to one that matches your décor!.

    Add approximately 1 tablespoon of liquid dye to 1 cup of very hot water. Add more dye to make the color darker, or more water to make the color lighter, depending on the color you want.

    Using a paintbrush or cotton dauber, simply brush on the dye.
  • 6
    Let dry and then hang.
