Project Instructions

  • 1
With the 36 inch x 36 inch White felt cut two 4-1/2 inch and six 4 inch strips.
  • 2
Roll up each strip into a tight coil; glue to secure at end. Set aside.
  • 3
Cut the 4 inch Styrofoam ball in half with serrated knife. Tip: Rub cut halves together (over a garbage can) to get rid of the loose pieces of Styrofoam.
  • 4
Hot glue two halves in place over first long sleeve shirt that is sized to fit person wearing costume, one at top of arm (where arm meets shoulder) and the other just below it. Repeat for other arm.
  • 5
Glue muscles to stomach of white shirt as shown in template to create the “six-pack”.
  • 6
On second White long sleeve shirt, draw tattoos with fabric markers on upper arms. Use scrap paper between layers of the sleeves to prevent marker from bleeding to other side. Option: if you want the “muscles” to be more pronounced, use the same size shirt as was used to glue on the muscles. Otherwise, use a shirt the next size up. Use the template for a guide on muscle placement for this project.
  • 7
Carefully slide “tattoo” shirt over “muscle” shirt.
  • 8
Cut sleeves off Red t-shirt. Cut a large scoop so that about 8 inch of shirt remains at bottom. Note: the shoulder “straps” will be about 2 inch wide.
  • 9
Cut out four 2 inch strips from the Black felt. Glue into place on Red shirt about 4 inch from the bottom.
  • 10
Download and print Belt Buckle part of template. Cut it from Yellow felt. Glue into place over belt on Red shirt. Option: make a special belt buckle with “World’s Strongest Man” or the child’s initials.
  • 11
Outline six pack muscles with Shiny White fabric marker to enhance.
  • 12
Place Red t-shirt over White shirts.
  • 13
For weights, paint 6 inch Styrofoam balls and dowel Black. Let dry.
  • 14
When dry, paint on “500 lbs” with Shiny White fabric paint. Tip: place balls on top of a glass or a bowl to keep from rolling around while drying.
  • 15
When fabric paint is dry, insert dowels into sides of Styrofoam balls with glue on dowel ends.
  • 16
To create Trick or Treat Bag, use paint a large circle on front of bag with Shiny Black fabric paint. Outline circle with same fabric paint. Let dry.
  • 17
Color in handles with Black fabric marker.
  • 18
Using Shiny White fabric paint, paint “500 lb” on the bag,
