Sadie's Studio Mahogany Melody Necklace
Create a necklace with a layered look using beads from the new Sweet Beads Sadie's Studio line.
- Time:1 hour
1Use four 30mm light brown beads and four 30mm dark brown beads to make the eight connectors featured in this necklace. Each connector is made by sliding a bead cap onto an eyepin, followed by the 30mm ceramic bead, then the second bead cap. Cut the excess eyepin so that 3/8 remains. Use your round nose pliers to make a loop.
2Cut the small link chain into the following four sections: one 8 piece, one 7.5 piece, one 7 piece, and one 6.5 piece. These will be used for the layers that feature bead dangles. The 8 piece will feature 7 bead dangles. The other three sections will feature 5 bead dangles. Each bead dangle is made by sliding one 10mm ceramic bead onto a headpin, cutting the excess headpin to leave a 3/8 section, and then making a loop from the remaining headpin. You can connect each bead dangle directly to the chain, or connect it using a jump ring from maximum movement. Center the bead dangles on each chain section, spaced about one inch apart.
3Connect four 30mm ceramic beads together using jump rings. This will be the left side of the necklace. Repeat this step to create the right side of the necklace. Lay these two sections side by side about 6 inches apart.
4Attach the 8 piece of chain with 7 bead dangles to the jump ring below the first 30mm beads on each side. Attache the 7.5 piece of chain with 5 bead dangles to the jump rings below the second 30mm ceramic beads. Then attach the 7 section below the third 30mm beads, and the 6.5 section below the fourth 30mm beads.
5Using the small link chain again, cut three more sections: 8 long, 9 long and 10 inch long. Attach these to the jump ring below the fourth 30mm ceramic bead.
6Complete your necklace using a medium sized link chain at the top. Cut two 5 sections, attach them to the top 30mm ceramic beads using jump rings. Close these two sections together using a lobster clasp.
