Project Instructions

1Note: this necklace features eight strands and each strand is about 18 inch long. Use a bead board to lay out eight different rows of beads in pleasing combinations. The seed beads will be used as spacers between the larger beads, and will also be used for an inch at both ends of all strands.
-
2Cut eight pieces of bead stringing wire 22 inch long. Use crimp beads to attach each strand separately to a 6mm split ring.
-
3Onto the first of these eight strands of wire, string one row of beads as you have laid it out on the bead mat. Remember to string one inch of seed beads at the beginning and one inch at the end of the strand. When you have finished stringing the beads onto the first strand, use a crimp bead to attach it to a second split ring.
-
4Repeat step three until all eight rows of beads have been strung and attached to the second split ring.
-
5Take an eyepin, gently open the eye and attach one of the split rings to the eyepin. Close the eye securely. Repeat this step on the other side.
-
6Push one eyepin through a large bead cone so that the various strands appear to disappear into the cone. Bend the eyepin into a 90 degree angle where it exits the cone. Cut off the excess so about 3/8 of an inch remains. Use round nose pliers to roll the excess into a loop. Attach the clasp to this loop and then make sure it is firmly closed. Repeat on the opposite side.
