- Time:1/2 hour
Remove the disk from the package and review the instructions for a Simple 8-Warp Braid and Whipping & Finish Braid Ends that are on the printed insert. Download the template for the pattern.
Clean Start: Lay the four cords side by side then fold in half and use a twist tie for the cord to tie them together at the center. Place the tied center into the center hole of the disk; set your warp as shown in the Warp Set and create the braid following Instructions for a Simple 8-Warp Braid.
Once you've finished the braid, remove it from the board and relax the tension by stretching it and running your hand from bottom to top. You'll notice the braid gets a little thinner and longer once it's relaxed.
Tie a knot in the braid, then gather your accessories, glue and ruler.
Decide on the length of your braid (don't forget that the end caps and clasp will add about 1 inch to the overall length). Next, you'll need to whip and cut the braid (refer to Whipping & Finishing Braid Ends instructions on the disk insert), then glue on the end caps. Tip: If you set the end cap open side up into the hole in a spool of thread it will free up both hands for adding the glue to the cap. If you want to add a charm or beads for the dangle, place the pendant slide on the braid before you glue onto the second end cap.
Glue will dry very fast. Wait about 10 minutes for the glue to set up, then connect a toggle part to each end cap with an opened jump ring.
