Nicole Crafts Hula Girl Finial
How clever is this hula girl with her skirt? By just adding paint, beads or other basic craft items, these wood shapes can be transformed into just about anything you can imagine!
- Time:1-2 hours (includes drying time)
1Paint finial Yellow Ochre. Using pouncer and Terra Coral paint, create cheeks at top as shown. Paint top Ebony Black for hair. Dot on eyes. Draw on nose and mouth with marker.
2Brush on varnish. Allow to dry.
3Place three mini cupcake papers together. Trace bottom of finial on inside of bottom paper. Cut out centers. Slip over head and glue in place for skirt.
4Cut an 8 inch piece of jute. Pull out one ply. Glue two small shells together in center of jute piece for bra. Wrap and tie around finial between head and skirt.
5Cut two 2 inch pieces of tan chenille stem. Bend into arm shapes as shown. Glue to sides of body.
6Cut several 2 inch pieces of yarn. Glue to head for hair. Trim to make even.
7Using dimensional paint colors, draw a flower lei around neck and a flower in hair. Let dry.
