Project Instructions

  • 1
Twist first color band into a figure 8 on the nails.
  • 2
Alternate colors on the nails so there are a total of 3 bands on the nails (1 figure 8, the others placed on normally).
  • 3
With fingers or a crochet hook (fingers work great with this one!) removing the bottom band from the nails so it is resting on the top of the bands that are stretched between the nails. You will likely have to push down the bands on the nails.
  • 4
Place next alternating color of band on nails. Repeat step C by removing the new bottom band from nails so that one is also resting on top of the bands stretched between the nails.
  • 5
Continue to repeat; the fish tail bracelet will begin to lengthen and “feed” from the bottom of the nails.
  • 6
When the desired length is reached, carefully add the clip or jump ring to both sides of the bands that are around the nails (do there will be 4 band loops that will be placed onto clip or jump ring, otherwise it will come apart!).
  • 7
Close bracelet with loop on other end of bracelet.
  • 8
Create patterns with your school colors, Red/White/Blue for a patriotic statement or alternate Orange/Black/Green/Purple for Halloween! Make a higher end looking bracelet with all Black bands and add charms. “Stretch” your imagination!
