Nicole™ Crafts Pony Bead American Indian Bracelet

Children can learn to follow patterns with this American Indian inspired design with pony beads.

Project Instructions

    Measure the diameter of your wrist. Add 6 inches to your measurement.

    Cut out a piece of foamboard your measurement long by 3 inches wide.

    Make 1/2 inch cuts along 3 inch wide ends 1/2 inch apart. Bend sides up to create loom.

    Cut six 20 inch pieces of natural hemp. Stretch across loom. Secure hemp in slits of loom.

    Cut a 40 inch piece of hemp and tie end to end strand of hemp on loom.

    Thread five beads onto hemp. Bring beads around bottom of strings on loom. Push beads up between strands.

    Thread hemp back through beads.
  • 8
    Repeat process until you have reached diameter of your wrist minus 3 1/2 inches.

    Tie ends on each side of bracelet as close to ends of beads as possible. Pull knots tight.

    Cut off ends except for one strand on each side.

    Tie bead to one end. Tie small loop on other end.
