Notes: To avoid spatter, do not start spraying directly on your project. Instead, start your spray on a paper towel or newspaper. Then, while spraying, move onto your project and continue spraying back onto the paper towel before letting go of the trigger. Clean tip of nozzle between each use: Rinse nozzle under warm water or tip can upside down and spray to clear nozzle. When not using paint or to store partially used cans, make sure the trigger is pushed out in the “off” position.
  • 3
Cut a donut-shaped circle out of contact paper, sized according to rug. Peel off paper backing and adhere to rug. Press edges firmly. Use additional spray adhesive if needed.
  • 4
Remove tab from can. Apply upholstery paint to exposed area in a slow, sweeping motion until full coverage is achieved. Blot excess paint from contact paper stencil. Let dry for 10 minutes.
  • 5
Slowly peel off contact paper stencil and discard. Let dry for 30 minutes. You can use your target game rug as is, or you can add stenciled numbers for keeping score!
  • 6
Generously apply spray adhesive to back of stencil and place in position. Press edges firmly to ensure a crisp, clean image.
  • 7
Use masking tape to tape off spaces around stencils which you do not want to paint.
  • 8
Use layers of newspaper to protect remaining exposed rug from paint spray. Remove safety tab and shake can vigorously.
  • 9
Start spraying off your project and apply paint in thin layers until desired coverage is achieved. Start spraying off your project and apply paint in thin layers until desired coverage is achieved.
  • 10
Let dry for 10 minutes and carefully remove newspaper.
  • 11
