Project Instructions

  • 1
Project time does not include the time to completely dry the napkin and placemat after styling. Cover your work surface with newspapers. You may also want to practice the flow of the paint on very inexpensive muslin (cut the muslin into several pieces so you can practice several times) before spraying your napkin and placemat. When napkin(s) are completely dry, consider embellishing with a napkin ring holder. Download the template for other tips and tricks.
  • 2
Paint a thin coat of dishwashing liquid onto the stamp. Stamp placemat and/or napkin. Repeat this step for each stamped design. Always re-apply dishwashing liquid before stamping a new image.
  • 3
When entire placemat and/or napkin has been stamped. Spray Deep Purple (or other color desired) in small areas. Lightly spray on Gold Glimmer to give a sparkling look.
  • 4
Let the Deep Purple completely dry. When dried, place in washing machine or wash by hand. Let dry.
  • 5
Apply Red Violet (or other coordinating color) to chunky stamp. Stamp design onto placemat and/or napkin. Let dry.
  • 6
Sew beaded ribbon onto sides of placemat if desired. Cut Adornament Fibers into 3 inch strips and tie around beads for extra embellishment, if desired. If your placemat is already beaded, and if you want, simply tie fibers around bead strands.
