Distressed Floral Card
Create this colorful and brightly "distressed" card with Darice® Embossing Folders! Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink and watercolor paper work so well together to create the perfect background for these embossed flowers.
- Time:1 hour
1"Scribble" markers (3-4 colors of Distress used) onto Craft Sheet. Mist with water to create "beads" of ink. Tap watercolor paper onto ink to create splotches and spots of ink. Dry with embossing tool. Re-apply paper to ink until desired look is achieved. Dry paper completely with heat tool.
2Trim paper to size of Embossing Folder. Run through embossing machine.
3Remove embossed paper from folder; place paper on flat surface and lightly sand embossed (raised) portions of design to reveal the white paper. Tip: Keep sand paper flat so the raised sections and not the inked non-embossed areas are sanded to review the white.
4For "Thinking of You", open up embossing folder. Lightly pat side of the embossing folder that is "debossed" (not raised), inking the flat surface of the folder, avoiding ink in the debossed areas.) Carefully place smooth, white cardstock into folder. Run through embossing machine. The ink will be on the paper surrounding the embossed word! Let ink air dry or use heat tool to speed drying time. Trim and layer onto color cardstock (Fuchsia used in sample).
5Using Adhesive Runner, place Flower Embossed paper on card; place layered sentiment beneath.
