Aunt Lydia's® Crochet Thread™ Lace Armlets

The Aunt Lydia's® Crochet Thread™ Classic 10 Size Lace Armlets were designed with brides, prom goers or debutantes in mind. With all the different colors of thread available, its easy to find a color that matches your outfit for the evening.

Project Instructions

    Use a gauge of 14 V sts + 16 rows (about 4 inch) to crochet armlets. Remember to check your gauge. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge. Download template for special and standard crochet stitches and abbreviations not explained elsewhere. Note: Armlet is meant to be customized to arm width. If you’re not sure what size you are, work Hand down to Thumb Shaping and try it on. Armlet should fit snugly. Pattern and supplies are written for size Small/Medium; changes for sizes Large and Extra Large are in parentheses. Finished Measurements: 3-1/2 (4, 4-1/2) inch across widest part of hand 9-1/2 (9-1/2, 10) inch long. Special Abbreviations: v-st = (dc, ch 1, dc) all in the same st or space cl (cluster) = [yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops] 5 times all in same space, yo and draw through all 6 loops on hook

    Armlet (Make 2): Hand Ch 60 (66, 72); join with slip st in first ch to form ring, being careful not to twist ch. Round 1: (Ch 4, dc) in same ch as joining (counts as beginning v st), skip next 2 ch, [v-st in next ch, skip next 2 ch] 19 (21, 23) times; join with a slip st in 3rd ch of ch-4 –20 (22, 24) v-sts.

    Round 2: (Slip st, ch 4, dc) all in first space, [v-st over v-st] 19 (21, 23) times; join.

    Rounds 3-8 (3-8, 3-9): Repeat Round 2.

    Thumb Shaping: Now work in rows: Row 1: (Slip st, ch 4, dc) in first space, [v-st over v-st] 19 (21, 23) times; do not join; turn.

    Rows 2-5 (2-4, 2-4): (Slip st, ch 4, dc) in first space, [v-st over v-st] 19 (21, 23) times; turn.

    Rows 6-8 (5-8, 5-9): (Slip st, ch 4, dc) in first space, [ch 1, v-st over v-st] 19 (21, 23) times; turn. At end of Row 8 (8, 9), join in 3rd ch of ch-4.

    Arm Length Now work in rounds (turn if necessary to work on right side): Round 1: (Slip st, ch 4, dc) in first space, [v-st over v-st skipping over ch-1 spaces] 19 (21, 23) times; join. Round 2: (Slip st, ch 4, dc) in first space, [v-st over v-st] 19 (21, 23) times; join.

    Repeat Round 2 until it gets too snug on your arm, then add a ch between V sts as often as needed until armlet measures 9 (9, 10) inch long or preferred length. Do not fasten off.

    Edging : Round 1: (Slip st, beg cl) in first space, ch 1, cl in ch-1 space of next v-st, ch 5, [cl in ch-1 space of next v-st, ch 1, cl in ch-1 space of next v-st, ch 5] 9 (10, 11) times; join in top of first cl – 20 (22, 24) cl.

    Round 2: Ch 3, (3 tr, ch 3, slip st) all in first cl, (slip st, ch 3, 3 tr, ch 3, slip st) all in ch-1 space, (slip st, ch 3, 4 tr) in next cl, sc in ch-5 space, * (4 tr, ch 3, slip st) in next cl, (slip st, ch 3, 3 tr, ch 3, slip st) in next ch-1 space, (slip st, ch 3, 4 tr) in next cl, sc in ch-5 space; repeat from * around; join with slip st in top of ch-3 – 30 (33, 36) petals. Fasten off.

    Thumb Edging With right side facing, join thread in any st of thumb opening; ch 2 (counts as first hdc), work 33 (35, 39) more hdc evenly around thumb opening; join with slip st in top of ch-2. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Press edging with warm iron.

    With needle and matching thread, sew one pearl bead to top of Edging Round 1 cl in center of each petal grouping, as shown in photo.
