    Use a gauge of 10 sc x 12 rows = 4” using larger hook to create a hat with brim circumference of 17”, a Child Large/Adult Small hat.

    HAT: With larger hook, ch 2. Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st to beg sc. Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc. Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] around, join with sl st to beg sc – 18 sc. Rnd 4: [Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around, join with sl st to beg sc – 24 sc. Rnd 5: [Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around, join with sl st to beg sc – 30 sc. Rnd 6: [Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around, join with sl st to beg sc – 36 sc.     Stuff Trunk firmly with polyester stuffing. Sew final round of Trunk to Hat using sewing thread and needle. Sew Ears to sides of Hat. Sew buttons to Hat just above Trunk. Weave in ends.
