1Use a gauge of 17 dc and 6 rows (4 inch) to crochet a shawlette that measures approximately 28 inch high by 61 inch wide. Save time, check your gauge. If the hook listed under supplies does not work, use the size that allows you to obtain the required gauge. Download template for abbreviations not explained elsewhere.
2Shawlette: Ch 6, dc in 6th ch from hk, turn. Row 1: Ch 6, dc in 5th ch from hk, ch 1, dc in next dc, [ch 1, sk 1 ch, dc in next ch] twice, turn. Row 2: Ch 6, dc in 5th ch from hk, *ch 1, dc in next dc, rep from * across, ending with ch 1, (dc, ch 1, dc) in top of t-ch, turn. Rep Row 2, until shawlette measures approx. 26-1/2 inch from starting point. Do not fasten off.
3Scalloped Ruffle Edging (worked along 2 long sides): Turn piece to begin working down the sides of the triangular shape. Row 1: Work one row of sc around the 2 v-shaped sides of the shawl, evenly spacing the scs and working 3 scs at the bottom point, turn. Row 2: Sl st in first 2 sc, *ch 3, sk 3 sc, sl st in next 2 sc; rep from * around the 2 sides ending with 2 sl st, turn. Row 3: Sl st in first 2 sts, *(dc, ch 1 in next ch 3 sp) 4 times, dc in the same sp, sl st in next 2 sl sts; rep from * around the 2 sides ending with 2 sl sts, turn. Row 4: Sl st in first 2 sts, *(sc, ch 3 in next ch 1 sp) 4 times, sl st in next 2 sl sts; rep from * around the 2 sides ending with 2 sl sts. Fasten off.
4Finishing: Weave in all ends.
