    STITCH GUIDE

    Adjustable Ring: Leaving a 6-8" tail, hold tail end of yarn in left hand. Make a ring by wrapping yarn around fingers, placing working yarn behind tail. Hold ring just made at the juncture of the two yarns. Insert hook in center of ring, yo, pull up lp. Pull tail of yarn to close ring after Rnd 1 is complete.

    UNICORN

    Note: Pieces are worked in a spiral throughout without joining, place marker at the beg of rnd and move up with each subsequent round.


    Arms and Legs (make 4)

    With A, make adjustable ring.

    Rnd 1: 4 sc in ring.

    Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around -- 8 sc.

    Rnd 3: 2 sc in each sc around -- 16 sc.

    Rnds 4-8: Sc in each sc around.

    Rnd 9: With B, sc in each sc around.

    Rep Rnd 9 until piece measures 4".


    Body and Head

    Note: Once Body is formed begin stuffing piece and continue stuffing as you work. Before closing head, place safety eyes.

    With B, make adjustable ring.

    Rnd 1: 8 sc in ring.

    Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around -- 16 sc.

    Rnd 3: [2 sc in sc, sc in next sc] around -- 24 sc.

    Rnds 4-9: Continue to increase 8 sc per rnd, working an additional sc between increases each rnd - 72 sts at end of Rnd 9.

    Rnds 10-13: Sc in each sc around.

    Rnd 15: [Sc in next 7 sc, sc2tog] around -- 64 sc.

    Rnds 16-18: Sc in each sc around.

    Rnd 19: [Sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog] around -- 56 sc.

    Rnd 20-22: Sc in each sc around.

    Rnd 23: [Sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog] around -- 48 sc.

    Rnds 24-26: Sc in each sc around.

    Rnd 27: [Sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog] around -- 40 sc.

    Rnds 28-30: Sc in each sc around.

    Rnd 31: [Sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog] around -- 32 sc.

    Rnd 53: [Sc2tog] around -- 8 sc.

    Cut yarn leaving 8" tail. Using tapestry needle thread tail through each remaining sc. Pull to draw closed and secure.


    Nose

    With B, work as for Body and Head through Rnd 4 -- 32 sc.

    Next Rnd: Sc in each sc around. Rep last rnd for 2". Fasten off.


    Ears and Horn (make 1 in A, 2 in C)

    Rnd 1: Make adjustable ring, work 6 sc in ring.

    Rnds 2-9: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in each sc to end. 14 sc at end of Rnd 9. Fasten off.


    Tail and Mane (make 13)

    With D, ch 21. Row 1: 2 sc in each sc. Fasten off.

    FINISHING

    Use photo as a guide throughout. Stuff nose, horn, arms and legs and sew to body. Sew 4 tail pieces to Body and 9 mane pieces to Body. Flatten ears and sew to Head. Weave in ends.
