Project Instructions

    Use a gauge of 20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st. to create an approximately 7-1/2" wide x 8”" long dishcloth. Note: When working from chart (available by downloading the template), carry color not in use loosely across WS or work, but never over more than 5 sts. When it must pass over more than 5 sts, weave it over and under the color in use at center point of sts it passes over.

    With Mod Blue, cast on 30 sts. 1st row: (WS) *K1. Inc1. Rep from * to end of row. 45 sts. 2nd row: K1. *Sl1. K1. Rep from * to end of row. 3rd row: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row. Rep last 2 rows for pat.

    Cont in pat until work from beg measures 2-1/2"” [6 cm], ending on a 3rd row. Break Mod Blue. Next row: (RS). With Bright Navy. *K3. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 36 sts. Break Mod Blue.

    Beg with a purl row, work 3 rows even in stocking st.

    Work Chart in stocking st to end of chart, reading knit rows from right to left and purl rows from left to right, noting 6 st rep will be worked 6 times. Break Mod Blue.

    With Bright Navy only, cont even in stocking st until work from beg measures 6" [15 cm], ending with a purl row.

    To create pom pom, with Mod Blue, cast on 10 sts. Work even in stocking st until piece measures 2”" [5 cm], ending with a purl row. Cast off knitwise.

    Using tapestry needle, stitch Mod Blue loosely around outer edge of piece and gather to form pom pom. Stuff pom pom lightly. Sew pom pom to top of 'Hat' as shown in picture.
