1Use a gauge of 20 sts and 26 rows = 4" in stocking stitch to create an approx 9" [23 cm] square.
2With Hot Green, cast on 42 sts.
3Knit in rows (garter st), noting first row is WS, until piece from beg measures 3½" [9 cm], ending on a WS row. Break Hot Green. Join Robin's Egg.
4Next row: With Robin's Egg, knit. Next row: K3. Purl to last 3 sts. K3. Rep last 2 rows once more.
5Note: When working from chart, carry yarn not in use loosely across WS of work, but never over more than 5 sts. When it must pass over more than 5 sts, weave it over and under the color in use. Place chart: 1st row: With Robin's Egg, K3. (Knit 1st row of Chart) 3 times, reading row from right to left. With Robin's Egg, K3. 2nd row: With Robin's Egg, K3. (Purl 2nd row of Chart) 3 times, reading row from left to right. With Robin's Egg, K3. Chart is now in position. Cont as established (working K3 at each end of every row) to end of chart. Break Tangerine.
6With Robin's Egg, cont even in stocking st until work from beg measures 8-½", ending on a RS row. Knit 5 rows (garter st). Cast off knitwise (WS).
