Give a nod to everyone's favorite Thanksgiving tradition with this fun Touchdown Dishcloth!
1Use a gauge of 20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st. to create an approximately 8" wide x 10" long dishcloth.
2To create FOOTBALL, with Warm Brown, cast on 3 sts. 1st row: (RS). Knit. 2nd row: K1. P1. K1. 3rd row: K1. M1. K1. M1. K1. 5 sts. 4th and alt rows: K1. Purl to last st. K1. 5th row: K1. M1. Knit to last st. M1. K1. 7 sts. 7th row: K1. M1. Knit to last st. M1. K1. 9 sts 8th row: As 4th row. Rep last 2 rows until there are 21 sts. Do not break Warm Brown. Join White. With White, rep last 2 rows 3 times. 27 sts. Break White. With Warm Brown, rep last 2 rows until there are 39 sts. Beg with a purl row, work 9 rows even in stocking st. Next row: (RS). ssk. Knit to last 2 sts. K2tog. Next row: K1. Purl to last st. K1. Rep last 2 rows until 27 sts rem. Join White at end of last row. With White, rep last 2 rows 3 times. 21 sts rem. Break White. With Warm Brown, rep last 2 rows until 3 sts rem. Cast off.
3Stitching Panel, with White, cast on 17 sts. Knit 1 row. Cast off. Sew Stitching Panel to center of Football. With White, work Stitches as shown in picture, using straight stitch embroidery . Feel free to do a victory touchdown dance.
