Use a gauge of 30 sts (4 inch) over Cable Panel B to knit a wrap that measures about 18 inch x 70 inch. Be sure to check your gauge. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches to make a 4 inch square, try using a smaller size needle; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size needle. Download template for abbreviations not explained elsewhere. Special stitches and techniques: 4/4 LC (4 over 4 left cross) = Slip 4 sts to cable needle and hold in front, k4, then k4 from cable needle. One-Row Buttonhole = Bring yarn to front and sl next st as if to p. Take yarn to back. *Sl next st from left hand needle to right hand needle, and pass first sl st over it; rep from * 3 more times. Sl last bound-off st back to left needle and turn work. Cast on 5 sts as follows: *insert right needle between the first and second sts on left needle, yarn over (to make a new st), sl this new st onto the left hand needle; rep from * 4 times more, turn work. With yarn in back, sl first st from left hand needle to right needle, pass last cast on st over to stabilize the buttonhole. K1, p1 Rib (worked over an odd number of sts) = Row 1 (RS): K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end of row. Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts. Rep Row 2 for K1, p1 Rib. Seed St (worked over an even number of sts) = Row 1 (RS): *K1, p1; rep from * to end. Row 2: K the purl sts and p the knit sts. Rep Row 2 for Seed st. Cable Panel A (worked over 20 sts) = Row 1 (RS): P1, k3, p2, k8, p2, k3, p1. Row 2: K1, p3, k2, p8, k2, p3, k1. Rows 3 and 4: Rep Rows 1 and 2. Row 5: P1, k3, p2, 4/4 LC, p2, k3, p1. Row 6: Rep Row 2. Rows 7-10: Rep Rows 1 and 2 twice. Rep Rows 1-10 for Cable Panel A. Cable Panel B (worked over 30 sts) = Row 1 (RS): P1, k3, p2, (k8, p2) twice, k3, p1. Row 2: K1, p3, (k2, p8) twice, k2, p3, k1. Rows 3 and 4: Rep Rows 1 and 2. Row 5: P1, k3, p2, (4/4 LC, p2) twice, k3, p1. Row 6: Rep Row 2. Rows 7-10: Rep Rows 1 and 2 twice. Rep Rows 1-10 for Cable Panel B. Notes: Wrap, including borders, is worked in one piece. The Set-Up Row is worked only once. Rows 1-10 on the chart are rep for the length of the Wrap. Pattern sts are separated by markers for ease in working. A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of sts. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
