Project Instructions

    Use a tension of 20 sts and 26 rows (about 4 inch) with larger needles in stocking st (or 17 sts and 30 rows in pat) to knit this top. If the needles listed under supplies do not work, use the size that allows you to obtain the required tension. Download template for knitting stitches and abbreviations not explained below and the pattern. The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ). You will need 3 skeins of Blue Steel and 3 skeins of Pewter to make this Top in sizes XS/S; 4 skeins of Blue Steel and 3 skeins of Pewter to make this Top in size M; 5 skeins of Blue Steel and 4 skeins of Pewter to make this Top in size L; 6 skeins of Blue Steel and 4 skeins of Pewter to make this Top in size XL; 7 skeins of Blue Steel and 5 skeins of Pewter to make this Top in size 2/3XL; 8 skeins of Blue Steel and 6 skeins of Pewter to make this Top in size 4/5XL. With Blue Steel, cont in pat (beg with a RS row), inc1 st each end of every following 16th (16th-16th-12th-12th-12th) row from previous inc 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2) time(s) more. 57 (59, 59, 61, 63, 63) sts.

    Neck edging: With RS facing, Blue Steel and smaller needles, pick up and knit 14 sts down left front neck edge. K21 (21, 23, 23, 25, 25) from Front st holder, inc 2 sts evenly across. Pick up and knit 14 sts up right front neck edge and 5 sts down right back neck edge. K31 (31, 33, 33, 35, 35) from Back st holder, inc 3 sts evenly across. Pick up and knit 5 sts up left back neck edge. 95 (95, 99, 99, 103, 103) sts. Knit 4 rows (garter st). Cast off knitwise (WS).
