Caron Simply Soft Rows of Ruffles Dress

Give that girl some bounce with a sweet, ruffled flounce! This sweet crocheted jumper works as a lightweight sundress or paired with a coordinating tee and leggings in chilly weather.

Use a gauge of 13 V-sts and 16 rows = 8” in V-st pattern to crochet a dress that measures 24 (26-1/2, 29)” finished chest and 21 (23, 25”) finished length including ruffles. (This roughly corresponds with 3 to 4 years, 6 years and 8 to 10 years.) When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
